Rachel

Rachel is my oldest daughter. She's pretty much the rock of the family like most oldest children are. She makes sure everyone is taken care of. She is very attentive to the needs of her parents and siblings. She has an eye for detail. She likes getting together as a family, playing games, eating pizza, watching football and oh yeah.....She is a huge BYU fan. I always feel sorry the Ute fan that might sit by us. She's married to Brenden. He is awesome. I knew he was a keeper when Rachel was in the hospital with a Crohns flare-up and he slept on the floor of her hospital room. WHO DOES THAT?? He's a great dad and very supportive of Rachel. They have two kids. Hayden and Zoey. They're so fun!! It's been a blessing to have them live close by. My kids keep moving away-so I get to spend time with these guys a lot more. Hayden is playing soccer this year (his Grandpa Chet is coaching) and I get to watch all of his games while I hold Zoey. These kids are the luckiest kids on the planet because both sets of their grandparents live within a mile of each other.

Jessie Poo is number 2....literally:)
This is what Hayden calls her. Jess is my bright, articulate, sassy, tender-hearted and liberal loving gal. She loves Hello Kitty, Harry Potter, learning, reading, her dogs Cato & Miss Ruby, and her husband Westonian (Weston). They live in North Carolina about 30 minutes from where McKenzie is serving her mission. I'm glad they live by one another. Jess doesn't like the injustices of the world or towards humankind or the mistreatment of animals. She and Weston met their first week as freshmen at SUU (Southern Utah University). They dated for 5 years and were married last year. They finished their undergraduate studies at the University of Utah. Weston just finished up his MBA at the University of Iowa (where he is originally from) which led to his job in N.C. I miss our lunch dates which consisted of bad food that tastes good and soda;) Here's a few pics that capture Jess-

Allie is #3. She is the one who makes us purty.....She graduated from SLCC in Cosmetology. Allie loved school and was very involved. She was a cheerleader and cheerleading coach for Millcreek Jr High after she graduated from High School. She also taught gymnastics. She and Joe met in a workout class that he was teaching. Joe has two kids Dre & Timmy. They are sweethearts. Lucas was born in February. He's a fun little guy who loves his mommy:) They live in Vegas, but I get to see them every other weekend because they drive up here to see Joe's kids. He's a great dad! I know it's hard for him to be away, but you got to go where theres a job for you.
Chase
It's not easy being the only boy with six sisters. But this guy has done it and somehow made it through it all. Chase is a thinker. When he was little, we thought he was a savant. No kidding! When he was six years old he memorized everyone's birthdays in the whole ward. When he was in sixth grade, he knew the capital of every country in the world. He loves the world! He loves to read about different cultures. When he got his mission call to New York City, he was disappointed for about 5 seconds that he wasn't going out of the country. Until he realized New York City is the world wrapped up in one place. He loved it there. He met a lot of people from everywhere. Chase is a one on one guy. Don't expect or think you'll be in a meaningless conversation with this guy. Every word, question or phrase that comes out of his mouth is a well-thought of question, answer or opinion. I enjoy every minute I get to spend with him.
McKenzie
Child #5; daughter number #4
Our hilarious Silvana McKenzie is currently serving an LDS mission in the Raleigh North Carolina Mission. She's been in Durham for 6 months. Words can't describe how we all miss her. She is the glue that makes us one. She is the link to the olders and youngers. Her quick wit is like no other (although Jessica is close). She has the ability to make life funny even when it's cruel to her. She is a fantastic missionary because she is compassionate and has a great deal of empathy. She endures a lot. She also has Crohns Disease and has been able to deal with a lot of sickness in her short 20 years. She's dealt with quite a few health issues on her mission but is able to look up. She believes there are a lot of people out there that have it worse than her. We love our Patenski, Chancho, Kenz, Kenziferd, Kinley....
Sierra
Our sweet Sierra the SiSi go go girl. I wasn't sure if she would make it to her third birthday. She was crazy! Always running in the street, jumping off of diving boards in the deep end, she moved so quick! She was never afraid of anything. She is our super sweet, good girl. She's very in tune with doing the right thing. She can stay out all night and I wouldn't worry about her. She has earned the nickname sloth over the last couple of years. It's not a name she likes, but she moves slow. She's very methodical about what she does. She is super talented. I can listen to her sing or play the flute all day. She has the most beautiful peaceful voice. She just auditioned for her first play. She'll be performing in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in February with the Jaks Theatre Company.
Logan

The Bebe.....Logan aka Doggerties is our baby. When she was born, Chet wanted to name her Madison Justice (after James Madison and Justice for the law). I took one look at her and I said "her name is Logan" She has fit her name from day one. She was a perfect baby, probably to make up for the sassy teenager that she is;) She beats to her own drum and makes her own rules. She is an awesome basketball player. She is my tallest at 5'11". She is also an honor student who academically succeeds in all that she does. She and SiSi are the only ones at home now; its been fun to see them do things together. They also have the opportunity to hang out with us a lot more. It's easier to take a family of four on a trip than a family of 9;)

I saved the best for last;) I don't know if I can sum up a Chet in a paragraph! He is the quiet rock of the family. He's bright, articulate, patient (for the most part-unless you act stupid), spiritual, giving, faithful, confident, a true blue dyed in the wool BYU fan, reasonable, loving, yes I can man. He has probably accomplished more in his short 50 years than anyone I know. What he accomplishes is meaningful. He has full faith in all people and gives everyone the benefit of the doubt. Even if they're idiots. He doesn't judge and can see things very clearly. If there is ever a family member or friend in trouble or needs some rational guidance, I send them to Chet. Me-too emotional. I would react to a fist in the face if I felt someone was getting in my grill, Chet-calm. Although, he could probably tell you to jump off a cliff and you'll ask which way to the edge! He's been my soul mate for 28 years. I'm glad to have him around. I've enjoy our years together and am so excited for our future. We like to hang around together and look forward to what life will bring us in the"retirement" years (Chet would never retire like the world retires; he would go bat crazy). Love my Chet!!!
